BYD Narrows Sales Gap with Tesla in European EV Market
Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD (BYDDY) is gaining ground on Tesla (TSLA) in Europe, with September registrations surging nearly fivefold year-over-year to 24,963 units. The ACEA reports BYD's European sales jumped 300% in the first nine months of 2025, while Tesla's deliveries fell 28.5% during the same period.
"The numbers prove BYD's internationalization strategy is working," said Shanghai-based independent analyst Gao Shen. Despite being the world's largest EV builder, BYD must continue expanding overseas sales to showcase its design and manufacturing capabilities. Executive VP Stella Li recently hinted at plans to double down on global expansion.
